Also in the future we hope to cover Recruitment, Church Schools (www.glosdioc.org.uk) and Governor of the month features.

Includes Governor Training : Cluster Training : Governor Visits Policy : Proformas for visits

Cluster Training

Some schools which work in "clusters" for other purposes, extend their cluster to incorporate the training of the governing body. If there is a topic, or topics, which are of interest to several schools in the same geographical area, this can be a useful approach to training.

Because of our interactive training methods and the benefit of discussion within sessions, it is not advisable for sessions to be attended by more than 20 - 25 governors. Schools are also advised that some topics (eg Finance) may not addressed in the same "bespoke" style if governors from more than one school are in attendance. Other more general topics are completely suitable for this approach

Clusters who have successfully completed this style of training are:

· The Tyndale Cluster which operates in the Wotton-under-Edge area.

· Steam Mills, Ruardean, Lydbrook, English Bicknor and Lydbrook.
