INTRODUCTION to ‘SNAPSHOT 2’ CLUSTER PROJECT WORKING

This report provides a second ‘Snap Shot’ of the cluster project work undertaken by small schools in Gloucestershire. The work has been funded by Standards Fund Grant and has been driven by a desire to develop projects which are both collaborative and innovative. The projects detailed here were funded in bidding rounds two and three of Standards Fund Grant 509.

There are 15 reports, one from each cluster group. In all, 69 schools from across the County, including 1 secondary school have been involved in this work. Projects have, once again, embraced a wide range of different activities. In addition to this, many in-service training and skill-sharing opportunities have occurred.

Each of the reports contained within this document gives a brief description of the work of the cluster. The Small Schools Support Group wanted to produce a second document that presents an insight into the range and scope of the work still being delivered. It also wanted to provide an opportunity for colleagues to share the experiences they faced as they planned, delivered and reviewed the work of their cluster. Further information can be obtained from the Headteacher of the appropriate lead school.

When you read this second report, you will be left in no doubt that this has been a worthwhile activity and will see the impact this work has had on staff, children and young people in small schools across Gloucestershire.
