GREAT RISSINGTON PRIMARY SCHOOL

ENVIRONMENT WEEK

Inspired by visits to the Wilderness Centre, Mitcheldean and a Countryside Day at Badminton, Great Rissington Primary School embarked upon an Environment Week at the beginning of July.

The week included visits to Over Farm (Healthy Eating & Food Production, Keynes Water Park (Environmental Sculptures) and the Hayden Water Treatment Centre, Cheltenham.

Members of staff from the Wilderness Centre (pond dipping) and Cotswold District Council (energy conservation and responsible dog ownership) visited the school.

Practical activities included the making of bird boxes, junk modelling, data logging work on habitats, observational drawing, a Fair Trade Stall and music and drama.

The week ended with on open afternoon for parents with musical entertainment.
