Healthy Eating Project : Small School Goes Big on Pizzas!

The smallest school in the county, Joys Green Primary (22 on roll), had a big day making pizzas as part of their healthy eating project last term.

The children created their own recipes and then made and baked them.

The project also included art and design skills with the children designing and making boxes for their pizzas.

The most difficult part followed; tasting the pizzas! This was a bonus for the builders who were refurbishing the children’s toilets at the time.

This whole school project, possibly only logistically possible in a small school, covered several curriculum areas and was thoroughly enjoyed by the children.

The project culminated in a picnic much enhanced by the fact that the school is situated in the heart of the Forest of Dean.
