| Recently, Stow on the Wold Primary
School spent a week immersing themselves in
the culture of the Native American Indians.
The central feature was the hiring of a full-size
tipi which was pitched on the school field.
It came with a box of artefacts, fact sheets
and traditional interior wall decorations. Each
class spent time in and around the tipi doing
traditional activities and learning the rules
of living in the tipi.
Activities in school included :-
Art & Craft : totem poles, face painting,
wood painting, small tipis, rattles, toys,
dream catchers, canoes
Cookery, Singing, Dancing, Games and Drama
The climax was a display of
work and performances by each class to the rest
of the school.
