SHEEPSCOMBE SCHOOL  TDA PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROJECT.  2006-2007.

Sheepscombe is a small village school with 65 pupils in three classes: Reception/Year 1, Year 2 and 3, Year 4, 5 and 6. There are four teachers, only one of whom is full time. The headteacher has a teaching commitment of 2 days.

Regional priorities for the South West Cluster Group were:

  • To strengthen the contribution of Initial Teacher Training partnership to school improvement in order to enhance: Learning and Teaching; Continuing Professional Development and Recruitment and Retention.

School priorities:

  • To develop teaching linked to our Rural Curriculum initiative.
  • To develop Training teachers’ skills in using the local environment.
  • To improve the breadth of learning for the children.
  • To provide opportunities for professional development for staff and governors.
